Paper recycling markets tanked in late 2008, but have slowly returned to historical averages. Plastic beverage bottles, bags, food containers, and other plastic products are made from different resins and have unique processing and market requirements. Where are markets headed for recycling most important materials? Market issues as they impact health care and medical waste disposal facilities will be discussed.

Clean Air Issues: Medical Waste Incinerators and Autoclaves
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency published the final hospital, medical, and infectious waste incinerator revised amendments and emission guidelines in the fall of 2009. A few states are beginning to look at autoclaves and air permitting. These activities will be discussed along with their impacts on the health care and medical waste industry.
